There’s so much to do these days! Cooking, working, shopping, inviting guests, driving, homework, studying…….
Trying to fit everything in can be mind boggling and overwhelming. It just seems as though there’s so much to do and no time for you.
Do you find yourself doing everything else that needs to be done, putting your needs last? Eventually you get burnt out and you may find yourself moody, tired, hungry and moody. Yes I did type moody twice on purpose.
When you put yourself last, you don’t get enough sleep, you don’t eat properly – grabbing food on the run. You feel resentful because everyone else seems to be doing nothing useful, making time for themselves while you lock doors, feed the pets, put the leftovers in the fridge. Chances are you'll eat more junk food to make up for the fatigue you are feeling or to fill an empty space inside you (loneliness, sadness, anger, resentment). You find that you do less exercise and this reduces your happy hormones making it a vicious circle. You become upset easily and do or say things you might regret.
The time to relax or do something for yourself is NOW, when you are so busy that you think you don’t have time to stop and breathe. This will give you the energy you need to carry on, to look after yourself and at the same time the others in your life. You can’t run on empty. If you don’t give to yourself, you will be depleted and then you will live a life that’s unworthy of your greatness.
So stop now and find some time to do something for yourself. Diarise it. Stick to it. You are an important person. You count.
Warm regards
Eve
