I’ve always had a soft spot for Superman. Maybe because he was tall dark and handsome and I was a teenager when I first saw him in a movie. Of course he did selflessly give to humanity. He was always there, saving people’s lives. It was a definite plus that he could fly. But just like us humans he also had a weak side.
We all have a superhero inside of us. On one hand very strong, with so much potential, so much giving, so much love. On the other hand, mistakes, fears, weaknesses, bad choices.
If you think about all you do on a daily basis whether it’s supporting your family or looking after them, whether it’s running a corporation with 100’s or 1000’s of staff or teaching a few nursery school kids each day, you will realise that you are making a difference and you are already a hero.
You don’t have to be a stereotypical hero who wears mega-tight clothes in all the primary colours, has perfect abs and stops trainwrecks from happening but you can realise who you are and what you do and acknowledge yourself.
Stop and be present for a moment…… take a breath…… look around you…… you DO make a difference even if it’s to one person or even one animal. What you do counts, even if it seems small.
I dare you to smile at the next person you see or hug someone who needs it, or talk to a lonely person. You will be lifting someone higher (with or without your shining red cape).
Have a wonderful day, superhero.
